Armor of God Prayer

With the Belt of Truth securely fastened, I pray my mind be refreshed with the truth, as I seek You LORD, in your Holy Word. Expose in my heart the lies I am tempted to believe. The truth is You are a SOVEREIGN God who loves and cares for me. The truth is, I am Your child, bought and paid for and nothing can separate me from Your love.

I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness.

You are my righteousness - shine through me today. As You walked without sin on this Earth, walk without sin through me today. Today, I choose to be obedient, no matter the cost. May others see You in me, LORD Jesus.

I put on the Helmet of Salvation.

Thank You, Lord, for saving me, and thank You for forgiving me. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for making me a new creation, I surrender my will, my words, my ways to You today. Help me to take every thought captive to the obedience of Jesus Christ.

I put on the Sandals of the Gospel.

I am available to You today, Lord. Use me in the lives of others. Your will, not mine.

I proudly wield the Shield of Faith.

My faith is in You, Lord Jesus! Anything that comes against me has come through You for I am in You and You are in me. By faith I claim victory over ____.

(fill in blank with today’s struggle(s), and prayers for others)

Lord, remind me that the victory is already won!

I wield the Sword of the Spirit, which is Your Holy Word, Lord (my only offensive weapon).

(Quote bible verses that resonate with you, now and continually throughout this day)

In the holy name of our Lord, Jesus Christ and by His precious blood shed for us, I pray. Amen.

- a Sister in Christ based this prayer on a sermon - pray it daily, in faith, in God's presence

for His Glory

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” (Ephesians 6:10-18) ... “the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the Will of God.” (Romans 8:26-27)
  • Pray in your secret place … pray anywhere ... pray everywhere … pray for everyone ... pray continually ...

“Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” (Luke 5:16)

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matthew 6:6)

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalm 91)

  • Praise God, Adore Him and Meditate on Him ... in His presence

  • Repent from attempting to create your own future

  • Repent from trying to solve your problems on your own

  • Request help to solve whatever problem you are facing

  • Request help to wait for the answer in Faith

"Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always."

(1 Chronicles 16:11, Psalm 105:4)

Jesus tells us to “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

"Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love."

(Psalm 31:16)

"The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory." (Isaiah 60:19)

"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. This is why it is said:

Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” (Ephesians 5:8-14)

“For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.”

(Psalm 61:3)

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14)

“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10)

“To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue. All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” (Proverbs 16:1-3)

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14)

“God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Your struggles may be physical or emotional, but perhaps it’s unbelief, confusion, worldly desires, or any number of things that hinder your relationship with your Father, God.

If you have difficulty pulling up bible verses – google it! It’s a great way to acclimate yourself to scripture. (I use BibleGateway) In any case, immerse yourself in God’s word daily. Meditate on His word.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7)
